The Hammer

This week, God spoke to me through words given to someone else who had lost a lot; her name is Naomi and she lost her husband, her sons and her home, but God spoke to her,
"The Lord will renew your life" Ruth 4:15 Whatever we have lost, here is hope.
What does restoration look like?
Sometimes it looks like a hug, but sometimes a hammer.
The great restoration of all things entailed a hammer, nailing my unforgiveness and selfishness to a Cross, nailing my Saviour to death.
When my hope falters, I only need look to him hanging there; here is his total commitment to complete the good work he began in me.
I am like the chair in the photo, a work in progress. So I love the way it made me remember my mum restoring furniture - a messy process but stunning results.
The great restorer is calling us to trust him - all the way to the Cross, through the Cross to the hope he holds secure.
"The Lord will renew your life."
A big thank you to Camilla Field, the artist behind the lens who so beautifully captures God's promises (you can find her cards at https://www.fieldnote.co.uk).
